  6. Congratulations on producing a beautiful publication. A couple of things I really liked besides the articles, were the ease of turning the pages, enlarging the pages, and seeing the links in blue, so easy to spot. You all should give yourselves a pat on the back. Thanks everybody.

Reading this issue gave me a lot of information that I knew nothing about and I have been working on Family History for the past 30+ years. Wonderful, informative, and just plain fun to read. I am looking forward to the next issue. It was well put together and understandable to every level of research. Keep up the fantastic work. Thank you for making it available to all! p.s. I have posted the link on the FB page I administer. I hope you get lots of readers!

  15. Congrats to you all for putting out a superb ezine. I have just read cover to cover and have found each and every page an enjoyable education. Haven’t really seen that since my days of the Genealogical Helper magazine. Look forward to so many future magazines. ~debbie

  16. Great publication !! Thank you for doing this.

In the article “Timeless Territories Deeds: How to get a copy”, page 24, by Michelle Goodman.
It refers to “last October’s “Timeless Territories”” about deed indexes, how or where can I access that article? Thanks

  17. Your instructions for downloading a PDF version don’t work for me. On step 2 I don’t see a box with an arrow that shows ‘“download” if you hover over it with your mouse’. I have registered with the website but then what? Can anyone tell me what is going wrong? Thank you.

Hi, Harold! I’ll add a screenshot on the instructions so it points it out. There is also a link above to the Issuu Helpdesk. That may help as well. :)

  18. I am astounded! This is much more than I ever though I would be receiving. I will definitely pass the word along about it.

    Great job! Magnificently prepared.

  19. Hi. I’d like to comment on each article as I read through. Is there a way to do that? Or is there an icon that I should click on?

      The In-Depth Genealogist

Hi Mariann! We have a forum category set up in the IDG forum for each column/section of the magazine. You can comment there or ask questions for the author. I’m sure they would love to hear it! Hope that helps!

  20. Now I just need to figure out how to get it on my Kindle and/or Iphone…..do you recommend a source for that part of the process?

      The In-Depth Genealogist

Hi Kathy! There are instructions on this page as well as a video tutorial. If those don’t help, the Issuu Help Desk is linked above with more specific information, especially for Apple products. Hope that helps!

  21. Wonderful new magazine!!

However, I am having a hard time finding where I sign up for the reminders on the 15th of the month. Do I have to set an account with Issuu in order to get them?

    Thanks!

      Hope that helps! Stephanie

  22. Love your magazine. But I have one problem with it. It is very difficult to read in PDF format with double columns. It would be easier to read if everything was one column. That way I would not have to scroll down one side then back up the page to continue on the other side. Thanks.

    • Thank you for your comment regarding our magazine. Though we want to do our best to make it as easy to read as possible there are some limitations to the digital format. We want Going In-Depth to look and feel like a real magazine and be aesthetically pleasing in addition to providing great content. You might try reading it through the online reader at Issuu. Or you could print a copy (I’d print black & white for best readability). I’m sorry that we can’t accommodate your request, but at this time we’re going to continue to provide a magazine with a mix of single and two column articles. I hope you understand and continue to read.

      Thank you!

  23. Obviously a lot of thought, planning, and hard work went into what appears to be a prime publication. Thank you for the blood, sweat and tears that you endured to put this together so that we could all benefit. Fabulous!

  24. Thank you so much for including the PDF option. I had about given up reading your excellent publication on ISSUU, it makes me chase it all over the screen and changes sizes anytime I try to click on a link. The PDF is perfectly well behaved.

  25. I just absolutely love this magazine. You have a team of excellent writers that always bring something new to think about. Thank you so much!

    • Peggy,

Thank you so much, it truly means a lot to know that the genealogy community appreciates what we are doing here.

      Terri

  26. Great magazine. Informative too.

  27. My readers, including me, LOVE “Going In-Depth”! Keep up the good work and have you thought of doing some articles from the west. Seems like you mostly concentrate on the east and mid-west.

  28. I like the magazine and especially the easy way to download and save the issue to my laptop for later reading. Keep up the great work you are doing.

  29. Carol Ellis-Jones

Congratulations on producing a beautiful publication. I really liked the articles, the ease of turning and enlarging the pages, and seeing the easy to spot links. I give you a silent applause. Thanks everybody.

  30. Dorothy A. Heinle

Thanks for your informative, instructive words. I usually wait to read the IDG letter until I have time to savor every article I choose to read. Then I take notes, and start checking out new ways to find those relatives who are still hiding their lives from me. I hate to think of some future descendant of mine searching for information about me, and I’ll admit, I don’t make it any easier for them. They should have to search as I have. What a pleasure it has been and still is , as I write and compile a very thoroughly referenced family history. They will find me there in the stories I’ve shared with them as Author’s Notes, etc.. Families should be shared! Thanks for making it easier for me.

  31. Peggy Lauritzen

You always do such a nice job!!! I’m really proud of all of you and your fantastic articles.

  32. Thank you so much Peggy! I enjoy putting it all together each month and hope that readers are getting a lot out of it. I know I have learned a lot from each of our writers. Thanks for the support!

  33. Each issue just keeps getting better and better!
