Genealogical Proof Standard – A Guide for Your Genealogy Journey

On Sunday November 5th, the IDG Academy is starting its new class the Genealogical Proof Standard - A Guide for Your Genealogy Journey taught by the very talented Cheri Hudson Passey. In the class, the 5 Elements of the GPS will be discussed and put into practice. Weekly content includes what exactly is reasonably exhaustive search, why and how to cite those sources, what it means to analyze and correlate findings, understand what to do with conflicting evidence and how to wrap it all up by writing a sound conclusion.

Genealogical Proof Standard - A Guide for Your Genealogy Journey (GPS) is great beginners and those with years of experience. Whether you are just beginning your genealogy journey or have traveled many miles up your tree, the GPS is a necessary tool to help ensure you are on the correct path to discover your ancestors.

Seats are limited and registration is open until Nov. 7th. The class is taught online and has great flexibility. You can learn a new element of GPS each week at your pace. You will have video lessons and homework to sharpen your skills. And the best part, direct contact with Cheri to answer your burning questions. Also, there is an area where you can connect with fellow participants and share your family history struggles and successes. It is a chance to meet other family historians from around the world and build community. Such a great value at $99 for 4 weeks. No matter your skill level, this is a class for you. With Cheri’s help, the essential elements of the Genealogy Proof Standard will become a part of or sharpened in your genealogy toolbox.

All you need to do is create an account on our IDG Academy Moodle site and register for the class. Hope to see you there!! Happy Learning!!
